3 weeks ago (yes I'm a little behind in blogging) I was invited to stay in a converted Wheat silo, just outside of Hay-on-Wye to update the locations profile on the Canopy and Stars website. I was blessed with great weather, perhaps a bit too good, I'm not a big big fan of the blue sky, think it renders the landscape dull. The only way to escape this it to photograph in the early evening and first thing in the morning. As I only had one night this was going to be a challenge, usualaly two days are better to scout out the great locations, and visit at different times of the day. As glamping goes, this was more of a posh English chalet, very luxury. No outside loos for me. One of the converted Silos was featured on George Clarks show on Channel four called Amazing Spaces. It was a lovely space and what I loved the most was the view of the Brecon Beacons. Under the bright blue sky the Beacons did not look as untamed and as wild as I would have like for the photographs, but would do lovely as a back drop to a very nice day and I had help from some Welsh Sheep.
It was booked to be a clear dry night and I was feeling very tired from the drive, so not to rely on a misty morning and a sunrise, I was keen to get some night shots.
